We have several digital photo ornaments listed on our site. But, are digital ornaments technology overkill? We pull ornaments out once per year. Chances are the battery will dissolve and ruin the ornament during 120 degree summer storage. A regular photo stands a better chance to survive the heat.
With that said, we love the look of flashy rotating photos. A static print is too simple. A digital ornament could hold fifty different photos. This benefit alone is worth the complexity of loading the photos and remembering to take out the battery every year.

Christmas 2009 is just around the corner and guessing by the hundreds of visits I’m getting every day, people must be looking for photo ornaments. So I’ve decided to provide a little shopping advice and give you ten reasons NOT to buy a photo ornament.
- The IRS garnishes your wages
- December means Happy Chaunakkuh
- Witness protection guidelines ordered “no more photos”
- You are a better painter than Bob Ross, prefering to draw photos
- Blackholes sucked away all available light
- The devil made you do it
This is from a trusted source, me. I would not lie to you. Happy shopping, I hope you find something interesting to share with your friends and family.

Many of our crafty visitors are looking for assembly intstructions for Do It Yourself Photo Ornaments. We’ve scoured the web for hand made picture ornaments, especially how-to-make variations. If you know of another picture ornament, leave us a comment and we’ll add it to our registry.
For example, this puzzle ornament is one of our favorites. It was listed on Kaboose and is made by gluing together puzzle pieces. I have puzzles that are missing pieces, maybe because someone make a photo ornament out of them! Please kids, don’t ruin your parent’s puzzles by doing this. It will only get you and me in trouble.
